ELITE SWIMMING
would like to introduce our two
Coaches, Gerald and Efi Item
(pronounced ētum).
Our Head Coach, Coach Gerry, comes to us with many years of swimming and coaching experience here in the United States and abroad.
For the last few years, Coach Gerry has been the Coordinator for the Indonesian National Swimmers training here in the US.
1998-2005: Head Coach for the Indonesian National Team for several national events.
1998-: Started
club (Elfira Swima Gemilang) with his wife Efi.
From 1998-2005, this club was consistently
ranked in the top 3 nationally and many of its
swimmers became national swimmers representing
Indonesia in various in
ternational competitions.
1996-1998: Head Coach for the Indonesian National Training Center for National B Team which consisted mostly of age group swimmers.
Coach Gerry is also an accomplished swimmer:
1978-1979: 4-time San Diego County CIF Champion while training at Coronado Navy Swim Association under Coach Mike Troy.
1977-1981: Multiple Gold Medalist at SEA Games, and Silver and Bronze Medalist in Asian Games while representing Indonesia.
Coach Wayne, is the newest addition and is training our Gold group getting them ready for Jerry's Senior Group. He has many years of swimming and coaching experience.
Coach Darlys, is training our Silver & Bronze Groups. She has many of he swimmer ready for AA's and some ready for Winter JO's.
Coach Chelsea, is training our Starfish Group. Chelsea has been coaching this group for over a year. Chelsea still works out with the national group Daily!
